Aramith New Carolina Premier Pyramid balls – balls for New Carolina, Big Pyramid and Seven Pins games are made of phenol-aldehyde resin produced by the Belgian company Saluc S.A., the industry leader. The set consists of 5 balls of different colours, standard for the pyramid size of 68 mm.

“Carolina” (“Five balls with caramboles”) refers to billiard games that appeared at the beginning of the XIX century. In order to allow all billiard lovers to play this fascinating game and to combine the balls for “Carolina” and “Big Pyramid”, the colours of the balls were slightly changed. Initially, the balls for “Big Pyramid” were white, it is possible to distinguish them from the numbered balls of “Pyramid”, but it is practically impossible for the spectator to distinguish them, the spectator got lost and could not follow the game. That’s why the colours of the balls were changed to pink, red and black.

The Big pyramid, like much else in 19th century billiards, is of French origin. France dictated the fashion in the production of billiard tables, leather stickers and chalk. But the “millstones” of the Empire changed a lot of things that fell on its territory, no exception and the “Great Pyramid”, the pockets became narrower, the balls stopped falling on the side and the tables grew in size. At the beginning of the XX century, billiard balls made of ivory and its imitation (bonzolin) reached 74 mm, and they came from France in the size of a walnut. It was then that the “five-ball game carom billiards” began to lose popularity to the “pyramid”. But above all, the game with coloured balls and the required “maximum” of 151 points is back again!

The game “Seven pins with carom” in its current form appeared in the thirties of the XX century. It became the successor of the “Five-pin game”, which at that time had lost its popularity on the puddle tables. Its main differences from all the traditional kegel games are that it is played on a puddle table, the player who has made a successful shot continue the attempt, and it is the only game where there are seven pins, not five.
