Saluc company, the manufacturer of billiard balls under the Aramith brand, which has become the industry standard, was founded in Belgium in 1923. The company started producing billiard balls from phenol-aldehyde resin in 1950 and over the years has become a world monopolist, having patented the material and selling 80% of the world’s balls for all types of billiards: pool, snooker, Russian pyramid and carom billiards. Today, Saluc company controls the production process along the entire chain – from resin production to the sale of finished sets of balls of different levels.
The entire technological process is kept secret, but it is known that it takes more than 20 days from the beginning of resin production in Salus’ own chemical plant to the final polishing. During the production process and at the final point of sale, the balls are evaluated according to a series of parameters: homogeneity of structure, perfect sphericity, perfect appearance – all these are characteristic features of Aramith billiard balls, which have enabled the company to achieve worldwide recognition among professional players, amateurs and billiard associations.
